Yoga therapy can be quite beneficial for Children with special needs. It is especially suitable for the children with one or more of the following:

 

  • Retarded growth
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Spastic limbs
  • Microcephaly
  • Down's syndrome

 

 

Yogasanas (Postures) and Pranayama (Breathing Practices) create a harmony or balance between:

 

  • The mind and the body
  • The right and the left sides of the body
  • Hyper-tone and hypo-tone
  • Body awareness as well as Flexibility.

 

It is safe for infants as well as toddlers. The parents can learn the yogic techniques that are progressively taught to their child so that they can be continued at home independently.**
